Lots of awesomeness happened! Had some of my previous customers come back and buy stuff/tell me interesting stuff/hang out at the store. I also sheltered some people in a period of particularly strong downpour. I put the crayons and the bookplates out at the markets.
My neighbours that day helped me with setting up the Oztrail Marquee I bought secondhand from a couple that sell ironing board covers at Broadbeach. I have named this tent Casino as a loose reference to Terry Benedict’s comment about Willy Bank’s new hotel. The small green one was affectionately nicknamed Shitzebo… that name’s self explanatory.
The weather was crazy so instead of setting up the stall as usual with the tables in a line out the front, I grouped them together in the middle to try and shelter the paper from the rain. I did have to cover it up twice when the rain was pouring in from the side. My neighbours on the other side came over with a stick at one stage and pushed off some of the water that had pooled in my canopy. Maybe our next investment will be in a tarp.
Made the most awesome purchases from Blue Mountain Pottery, the stall across from me that day. I bought 4 incredibly cute clay creatures which I used to pin down some of my light paper products so that the wind didn’t blow them away. They’re perfect as paperweights. I have included pictures. That’s the trouble with markets though. If you go with money in your pockets, you will surely buy something.
Next weekend, some surf competiton is on at Braodbeach so there will not be a market there. To make up for that, we will try to be at the Moonlight Markets on the following Thursday (25th MArch).
Anyway, here are some pictures of the stall set up at Tamborine. Enjoy!
