I also bought a knitted banana that I had wanted since the first time Rowan and I when to scout out the Broadbeach markets for the first time. That purchase was long overdue. I then paid the advance that will put Juky and Beatrix down for the Wintersun market on a Saturday at Coolangatta. Looks like I’ll be hauling myself down there after all. It was $50 so hopefully that will be worth it. Still debating whether to also go on the Sunday. After that my wallet was pretty much empty.
On the same day, earlier in the morning I also hit the Marina Quay market at Hope Island. It looked a tad miserable and many of the shops still weren’t open. But there’s two magical bookstores there. One opened by the Rotary which I raid for books I can improve on and the other which has moved down from Coomera with lots of beautiful, vintage and antique books which I have to save up for. I’ve spend waaaay too much money at both so my rule for this week is to not buy any books. I think I can hold out for a week.
In other Juky and Beatrix news, we’re introducing a new line of magnets converted from everyday objects. Imagine holding up the shopping list or notices from school with lego blocks! Can’t think of anything more geeky. We’ve also made STICKERS. So look out for both at our next market in Sanctuary Cove this Thursday. Then George’s Paragon afterwards. Yum. So that's where all the money I earn from the markets goes.
See you there!
