Hello! This is just a quick message to say that Juky and Beatrix will not be attending the markets up at Mt. Tamborine because May is going to Tasmania and then Melbourne. If you have orders pending, please get in contact with May asap.
Instead of going to Paradise Point, my sister and I checked out the market at the Tamborine Mountain State School and found it to be a goldmine!
She bought candles and jam to take back home while I... well... anyone who knows me will know what I'm like - I buy the most random things! I went home with some eggs (not so random), 5 scarves, a bed sheet, six plate stands, one soapstone box and an ornate metal bowl that I'm going to use to stand my business cards! It was all very exciting.
I have no idea what to do with the scarves, but I have already begun converting the sheet into wonderful, vintage looking mushrakazams.
In other (more important) news, a selection of Juky and Beatrix Stationery will be available at St Barts (Ferry Road Market, 107 Ferry Road), a wonderfully curated boutique. I had been in there a couple of times and just loved it every time. If I ever open a shop, I would use St. Barts as a benchmark of success. It was totally by coincidence that I was approached at Wintersun about coming in to show them my books and I felt so honoured to be even considered. The ladies at St. Barts are the nicest people and their poppy seed soap from France is to die for.
Next Sunday (4th July) Juky and Beatrix will not be at Broadbeach because of the marathon. The market will still be on though and it's one of the best on the Coast! I plan to take the time to check out the young designers market in Brisbane. In the future, I hope to use these markets to access a different demographic of customers.
